Groundbreaking step towards Shark Conservation

A new law banning the consumption of shark fins in Hawaii has made shark conservation just a little easier. While Hawaii was the last state added to the USA it is the first state in the US (and the world according to Iris Ho of http://www.takepart.com) to implement a law that “prohibits the possession, sale or distribution of shark fins, will help arrest the cruel practice of shark finning and enhance shark conservation.”

  1. bansharkfinning,

Hope all is well. I know this post is about 3 years old, but I was wondering if I could possibly do an interview with you over the phone or through email. I am doing a huge research paper on shark finning for college and one of our sources has to be an interview. I have done quite a bit of research on the topic, and I was just looking to ask a few questions. I would really appreciate it if you could help me out… I am located in Indiana so it is difficult to find anyone who is well knowledgeable on the subject here. If you would kindly help me out you can contact me through my email which is alexsimerman@yahoo.com or reply to this post. I will refrain from putting my cell phone on here for privacy purposes. I hope you are able to help me as I feel as though you are well rounded about this subject.

    Thanks,
    Alex Simerman

    • Hello!

I deeply apologize for the delayed response …. 1.5 years delayed to be exact. I have been finishing my graduate degree and unfortunately this blog has taken a backseat. I have since graduated and will be returning to posting.

Again, my deepest apologies. I hope your paper turned out well! If you still have it kicking around I would love to give it a read.
